Build quality and looks

Let’s start with the looks, which seems like they borrowed the design straight from Sony’s earlier model SRS XB-20 half a decade back. No fancy lights, expensive materials used. It is a plain looking speaker which definitely feels sturdy in hands. At 595g the speaker has a nice heft to it which feels nice and premium.

The buttons are nice and clicky on the top which are easily accessible but the visibility is poor in the nights because they are not backlit. It has got a power button with a LED indicator beside which indicates charging when the red light is always on, fully charged when the green light is always on, connected to a device when the blue light is always on, pairing mode when blue light flashes quickly, reconnection mode when blue light flashes slowly.

Then, there is a multi function button which acts like a universal mic button on earphones. one tap for pause and play and twice for next songs and thrice for previous. Volume + and – buttons are also present along with the new EQ mode button called xbass. The previous models had the same xbass button where it simply switches on and off the extra bass mode. Now Tribit has updated it two more EQ which are Music and Audiobook.

Sound

This is the most interesting part about the speaker which makes it the king in it’s price category. Words can’t describe how it sounds in real. For you information, the sound quality is purely compared by the price range only. I know there are better sounding speakers out there which costs more than double the price of this.

This speaker sounds almost flat when the XBass is turned on. I personally keep it turned on all the time. Good amount of low end for it’s size and a mature mid end with not so squeaky highs makes it nice and soothing to listen. The highs are not so perfect and great since there are no tweeters. But this delivers a sound that will definitely make people ask what speaker brand are you using. The fullness of the sound can even beat Bose revolve and many others at a cheaper price. That’s how well balanced the sound signature is! It is loud enough to use it in a room. As the volume gets higher, the bass tends to reduce to reduce any distortion. But there’s hardly any distortion in the overall sound at peak volume.

The new updated models which have been rolled since January pack a new additional feature where you can pair two bluetooth speakers from Tribit. Once paired, those two speaker will act as Left and Right channels which give you nice stereo effect. I have tried it with my older Tribit maxsound plus and it really sounded great. Just don’t expect shattering bass.

Final thoughts..

This is definitely a bang for your buck! You will never regret spending around 4k rupees for this wonderful piece of art. For this price, it gives you a fuller sound with a good amount of loudness which almost to never distorts at high volumes. The competition for this bad boy is JBL Flip 6 which is definitely almost twice as expensive as this. You could buy two of these and pair for great separated stereo sound. The Water resistance is definitely an added benefit where you could use it alongside swimming pools and other areas where you can play around with water worrying less about your speaker get wet.
